The deadly wreck happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in Saratoga County, on I-87 in the Town of Wilton, according to New York State Police. Troopers said Richard Irelan, age 45, of Johnstown in Fulton County, was driving his motorcycle on the off-ramp at Exit 15 when he collided with a pickup truck. Police ID Motorcyclist Killed Following Crash In Region Authorities have identified a 31-year-old motorcyclist who died following a crash in the Capital District. Saratoga County resident Jeffrey Leighton, of Gansevoort, was riding on State Route 9 in Wilton Friday morning, Aug. 12, when he collided with a car just before 9 a.m., the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said. Leighton was transported to Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, where he later died from his injuries, police said. The other driver was not injured and no criminal charges were announced.
