Person Hospitalized After Hitting Deer On Busy Road In Region A serious crash involving a deer resulted in both a person being hospitalized and the brief closure of a busy Northern Westchester road.  The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 23 around 8:30 p.m., when a car struck a deer on the Croton Point overpass on southbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  One person was then taken to a local hospital by Croton EMS and the Ossining Paramedic Fly-Car.  After the crash, responding crews briefly shut the road down until the vehicle and deer were removed.  Correction: The person invo…

Details Emerge After Woman Struck, Killed By Fallen Tree In Area New details have been released after a woman was killed when a tree fell on her car while she was driving on a stretch of Route 9 (Albany Post Road) in the area. The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. Monday, July 27 in Dutchess County just south of Mills Cross Road in Staatsburg. Pickup Truck Crashes Into Rite Aid In Area A Rite Aid in the area is closed for at least rest of the day after a pickup truck crashed into the store, the Fairview Fire District said. The Rite Aid is located on Route 9 (at 3350 North Road) across from Marist College in Poughkeepsie. The incident happened just before noontime. There has been no word on any possible injuries sustained by the driver, who is described as an unidentified man. Town of Poughkeepsie Police and other emergency responders remain at the scene.
