Community Heartbroken Over Loss Of Firefighter, School Bus Driver From Region Community members, firefighters, schoolchildren, friends, and family are "heartbroken" over the sudden passing of a popular Hudson Valley firefighter and school bus driver. Rockland County resident Matthew M. Duffy, age 57, of Orangeburg, died on Thursday, April 25. Duffy was the Deputy Director of Plant Facilities at Rockland Psychiatric Center for 37 years before retiring in 2021. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that 57.9 percent of hospital workers in the Hudson Valley have received the COVID-19 vaccine, while statewide, a total of 60.8 percent of medical professionals have been vaccinated. Alias Stone, aka, "Billy Pugh," 55, of Orangeburg, who was found guilty of manslaughter by a jury last year, was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 3, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E.
