Community Heartbroken Over Loss Of Firefighter, School Bus Driver From Region
Community members, firefighters, schoolchildren, friends, and family are "heartbroken" over the sudden passing of a popular Hudson Valley firefighter and school bus driver.
Rockland County resident Matthew M. Duffy, age 57, of Orangeburg, died on Thursday, April 25.
Duffy was the Deputy Director of Plant Facilities at Rockland Psychiatric Center for 37 years before retiring in 2021. After retirement, his obituary said that he worked for Peter Brega as a school bus driver for the Nyack school district.

Man Sentenced To 22 Years In Beating Death At Area Psychiatric Center
A Rockland County man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the death of a patient at a psychiatric center.
Alias Stone, aka, "Billy Pugh," 55, of Orangeburg, who was found guilty of manslaughter by a jury last year, was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 3, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh
The attack took place around 5 p.m., on July 31, 2017, when Stone violently attacked Ronald Randolph, a fellow Rockland Psychiatric Center patient, said the DA's Office.
