Man Lying In Roadway Struck, Killed By Car In Region A 64-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in the region while lying in the roadway. The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Albany Police said the victim was lying in the roadway on Washington Avenue near Quail Street when he was hit by a vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. It was not immediately clear why the victim was in the roadway or whether he was injured beforehand. 14-Year-Old Struck, Killed While Walking On Highway In Area A 14-year-old was struck and killed while walking on a highway in the region. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, with reports of a car vs. pedestrian crash in the town of Clermont, on State Route 9 near County Route 8. New York State Police determined that a 2007 Ford F550 was traveling northbound on Highway 9 when it struck the teenager, who was walking in the roadway at the time. Area Man Charged For Fatal Hit-Run Crash Police have arrested a Hudson Valley man who allegedly struck and killed a 76-year-old woman in New York City and then fled the scene. Orange County resident Vincent Francis, age 62, of Monroe, was arrested on Wednesday, March 23 in connection with the crash, said the NYPD. The crash took place in Co-op City in the Bronx on Tuesday, March 7 when Francis was driving a dump truck south on the Hutchinson River Parkway East when he made a left turn onto Einstein Loop and struck Lola Blair while she was crossing the roadway, NYPD said.  Francis then fled the scene, police said.
