A police officer will not face charges in an officer-involved shooting that killed a man in the Hudson Valley.

Suspect Nabbed In 2019 Murder At Area Restaurant
After an intensive 14-month manhunt, a 27-year-old man has been arrested by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force for the 2019 murder of another man at a restaurant in the area.
Jamaad Mikal Murphy, of Middletown, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Ramapo, for the Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, killing of Matthew Napoleoni, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.
State Police say that at approximately 2:30 a.m., Murphy, shot and killed Napoleoni, age 23, also of Middletown, outside of the Made in Puerto Rico Latin Cuisine and Sports Bar on Schutt Road Extension in the town of Wallkill.

Man Accused Of Raping, Stabbing 41-Year-Old Woman In Wallkill
A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and stabbing a 41-year-old woman.
The incident took place in Orange County around 3:35 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, when the town of Wallkill Police responded to a report of an assault at the Cambridge Manor Apartments.
When police arrived on the scene at 28 Stoneridge Road, they found the victim who was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries, said Wallkill PD Lt. R. McLymore.

A 19-year-old has been was arraigned for second-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old area student.
Orange County resident Chelsea Johnson, of Middletown, was charged Tuesday, March 17, in Orange County Court, for the fatal stabbing of Roy Boyd, of the City of Middletown, around 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 21, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.

Worker Seriously Injured In Construction Accident
A 30-year-old man was seriously injured during a reported construction accident.
The victim, Ricardo Martinez, 30, of Monroe, was found injured around 11:06 a.m., Monday, March 16, when New York State Police responded to Zupnick Drive in Kiryas Joel, for a reported construction accident, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
Troopers found Martinez unconscious with an apparent head injury. A trooper began CPR until Martinez was transported by KJ Ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown where he is currently listed in serious condition, Nevel said.

ID Released For High School Student Stabbed To Death By Teen Girl
A 17-year-old area high school student has been identified as the victim of a deadly stabbing.
Roy Boyd, of the City of Middletown, was found stabbed to death around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, following a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute on Orchard Street, said City of Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry R. Thoelen.
As officers responded to the area, a second call said that Boyd, who attended Middletown High School, had been stabbed in the chest. When officers arrived, they found Boyd lying "gravely injured" on the sidewalk in front of 66 East Main St., Thoelen said.

Man Indicted On Charges He Shot Mother, Injured Officers In Area
A 28-year-old man has been indicted on charges alleging that he shot his mother and injured police officers while resisting arrest.
This week, Derrick Fields, of Wallkill, was indicted and charged with four counts of second-degree assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest for an incident last month.
