Trio Uses Dating App To Lure Robbery Victim In Region, Police Say He thought he was meeting a woman he’d talked to online, but a man from the region ended up staring down the barrels of two guns instead. Troy Police were called just before 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, for an armed robbery near Congress and Cypress streets. The victim told officers he had been messaging a woman on a popular dating app when she suggested that they meet up in an alleyway. When the man arrived, he was confronted by two men who displayed what appeared to be handguns and demanded his property. He complied and the suspects fled the scene. Saratoga County resident Andrew Cosme, of Clifton Park, was arrested following an investigation by the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and a grand jury indictment. Investigators said the victim called police on Jan. 29 saying she had been violently raped and physically assaulted by a man she had met on a dating app. Cosme was taken into custody after a week-long investigation. Ulster Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of Juvenile, Police Say An area man has been charged with engaging in "periodic unlawful sexual conduct" with a minor. Douglas R. Whitaker, age 68, of the Town of Ulster, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 19, and charged with sexual abuse-related charges. According to Lt.
