Trio Nabbed For Home Burglaries In Region, Police Say Three men were apprehended by police in the Hudson Valley shortly after allegedly committing home burglaries. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, on Continental Drive in New Windsor. Man From Region Charged With Homicide In Fentanyl Death A Hudson Valley man has been charged with homicide for allegedly selling fentanyl to a man who later died. Orange County resident Timothy Lempicki, age 36, of Washingtonville, a village in Blooming Grove, was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday, Nov. 30. According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, Lempicki was also charged with manslaughter, and criminal sale of a controlled substance. Man Sentenced For Repeated Sexual Abuse Of Child A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing a victim under the age of 13. Orange County resident Byron Romero, age 36, of New Windsor, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Monday, Oct. 3, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Romero was also sentenced to 20 years post-release supervision. Prior to his release from state prison, Romero will be registered as a sex offender, Hoovler said. Smith, age 60 of New Windsor was found around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, following a house fire in New Windsor, officials said. According to New Windsor Police Chief Robert Doss, the fire started around 7 p.m. at 17 Shaw Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and smoke, Doss said. The crash took place around 10:38 p.m., Friday, March 26, on Temple Hill Road, in New Windsor. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a head-on collision between a 2019 Subaru and a semi-trailer had taken place, said New Windsor Chief of Police Robert Doss. Diana DiMartino, 16, ran away from St. Christopher's Group Home on Route 94 in New Windsor, said New Windsor Deputy Chief Michael Farbent. A spokesman for the school, Dennis da Costa, director of Communications, said, "The resident was safely returned to campus by her parent."
