Person Hit By Train In Region A person is in critical condition after being struck by a train in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County early Monday, July 10 at 1 Municipal Plaza in the village of Spring Valley. Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps responded to the scene and found that the person was heavily pinned under the New Jersey Transi train, which required a prolonged extrication. A Spring Hill Captain requested a Medevac helicopter due to the prolonged extrication, but due to the severe storms, it was unable to fly, the department said. Person Standing On Platform Killed After Coming Into Contact With Train In Region A person was killed after coming in contact with an incoming train overnight in Westchester County. The incident took place in Westchester around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at the Hasting-on-Hudson station. According to MTA officials, a person standing on the platform at the station came in contact with the side of a Croton-Harmon bound train as it was approaching the station. MTA Police, Metro-North Railroad, and rescue personnel responded, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Region Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck by a New Haven Line train in Westchester. Aurelia Franchitti, age 21, of Woodside, in Queens, was fatally struck after stepping in front of an eastbound train at Rye Station around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials said.  Earlier report: Person Killed After Stepping In Front Of Train In Rye The MTA Police are investigating the incident.  Officials said at this early stage in the investigation, the incident does not appear criminal or accidental in nature.

ID Released For Person Struck, Killed By Train In Area Officials with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority have released the identity of a man who was killed after being struck by a train in the Hudson Valley. Paul Engel, age 67, of Manhattan, was killed in Orange County around 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17 in Scotchtown, a hamlet of the town of Wallkill. Earlier report: Person On Tracks, Struck, Killed By Train In Scotchtown According to the MTA, Engel was struck by a New Jersey Transit Authority train and confirmed dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing by the MTA Police.
