Police are investigating a fatal shooting at an intersection in Westchester. It happened in broad daylight around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 in New Rochelle. Police received multiple calls of shots fired, and that a person was shot near Horton Avenue and Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard, New Rochelle PD Captain J. Collins Coyne said. Police in Westchester County recovered 36 stolen catalytic converters inside a suitcase and a vehicle after being tipped that the thieves may be in the area. The incident took place in New Rochelle on Tuesday, June 21. Detectives were alerted by the Real-Time Crime Center that a Dodge Challenger suspected of being used by catalytic converter thieves entered New Rochelle via I-95 at Exit 15, said Capt. J. Two officers were injured after wanted suspects in an allegedly stolen SUV rammed a police vehicle in an attempt to flee on I-95 in Westchester in a stolen vehicle, officials announced. Investigators have determined that a massive five-alarm fire that broke out In Westchester, leaving one woman dead, was accidental. First responders were dispatched to a stretch of commercial buildings on Hamilton Avenue in New Rochelle at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 31. A teenager in a stolen minivan rammed a police vehicle and attempted to flee from officers in Westchester after being arrested while hiding in the bushes, authorities announced. A manhole exploded near a Westchester police station, though no injuries or property damage was reported. A manhunt into the fatal shooting of a cab driver in Westchester led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive who was wanted in Connecticut after a shootout with police, authorities announced. Police have identified the father who was killed in a double-fatal crash in Westchester that left one of his twin sons dead and two other children critically injured.
