Victim ID'd In Deadly Single-Vehicle Crash On Area Highway Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a highway in the region. The Albany County wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on Route 7 in Watervliet, according to New York State Police. Akiem Keele, age 33, of Whitehall in Washington County, was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Route 7 at a high rate of speed when he struck a dividing barrier near the exit to I-787. 84-Year-Old Hit, Killed After Exiting Car On Highway In Region An elderly man who got out of his car in the middle of a Capital District highway was struck and killed by another vehicle, authorities said. The incident happened in Albany County at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, on I-787 in the village of Menands. State police said 84-year-old Eddie Robinson, of Troy, was driving southbound when he stopped his vehicle in the center lane and got out. He was standing in front of his car when it was struck by another vehicle from behind, police said.
