2 Rock Hill Men Nabbed Cutting Copper Pipes Off Heating Unit, Police Say
Two men from the region were charged with felony burglary after allegedly being caught inside a home cutting copper pipes off of a heating system.
The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 1 in the town of Thompson at 409 Rock Hill Drive.
According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found the two men identified as Damien Somolinos, age 34, and Richard Galeano, Jr, age 51, both of Rock Hill, inside a residence, cutting copper pipes off of the heating system.

Trio Nabbed With Drugs, Gun At Inn Monticello, Police Say
Three men were charged with various drug possession charges following a warrants raid on an inn in the region.
The warrants search occurred in Sullivan County in Monticello at the Monticello Inn around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The first search warrant was executed in room 218 where deputies arrested Jacob McCoy, aka “Scar”, age 50, of the Bronx.
McCoy, who is a 3-time felony offender, was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.

Sullivan County Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash, Police Say
A woman from the region was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas Eve.
Sullivan County resident Lisa Kottl, age 31, of Bloomingburg, was killed around 7:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 24, after losing control of her vehicle.
According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, when deputies responded to the report of the crash on Route 17 in the town of Thompson, they found a 2007 Nissan Altima had hit a water diversion ditch next to the exit and rolled over.
Kottl was pronounced dead at the scene by Sullivan County Coroner Alan Kesten, he added.

Suspect Charged For Sullivan Hit-Run That Left Man Unloading Groceries Dead
Police have arrested an area man for the alleged hit-and-run death of a man who was killed while unloading groceries from this vehicle.
Sullivan County resident Joseph Maxwell, age 34, of LIberty, was arrested on Tuesday, April 13, for the hit-and-run death of Dennis Toscano, 60, also of Liberty, who was found dead Saturday, April 10, on the shoulder of the highway, said Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Deputy Cheif Eric Chaboty.
