A prolific burglar who targeted nearly a dozen businesses in the region was caught with the help of a drone, police said. Albany County resident Jesse Stockman, age 37, of Colonie, was arrested Friday, Jan. 12, in connection with several break-ins at businesses in Colonie. Colonie Police were called at around 10 p.m. for a report of a commercial burglary in progress near Troy-Schenectady and Old Loudon roads. The culprit fled before officers arrived. A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly punching his father in the face numerous times and then fleeing from police before being caught with the help of a drone and K9 officer. The incident took place in Rockland County around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Nanuet after police responded to a report of two men fighting in the street. According to Det. A drone that was seen flying over several schools in the region sparked concerns among parents and prompted a police investigation. The unusual sight was spotted in Albany County on Thursday, Oct. 12, in the town of Bethlehem. Several people contacted the Bethlehem Police Department saying a drone was flying over Slingerlands Elementary, Eagle Elementary, and Bethlehem Central High schools. Police are investigating after a drone flew above Yankee Stadium in the middle of Yankees-Red Sox, according to NJ.com. The incident took place on Saturday, July 16 when the Yankees were en route to beating the Sox 1-14. The drone reportedly zipped around in the air for 15 minutes near the Delta Airlines sign in the right-center field, NJ.com said. Lumberland Man Dies After Falling Attempting To Retrieve Downed Drone
A man from the area was killed after reaching for a downed drone and falling more than 250 feet in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County in Deerpark around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
