Tractor-Trailer Driver Charged For Bridge Strike, Explosion In Region
A tractor-trailer driver who suffered severe burns in a bridge strike and explosion in the region has been criminally charged. The Schenectady County incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, in Glenville on Maple Avenue. Fire officials said 60-year-old Sylvester Basil, of Clute, Texas, was transporting individual containers of compressed natural gas when he slammed into the steel truss railroad overpass.
