Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Road Near Lake In Region A car fire in the Hudson Valley left a busy main road filled with smoke, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Feb. 7 around 11 a.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on Route 301 near Canopus Lake in the town of Kent, according to the Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1, which helped respond to the blaze.  Arriving fire crews found that the vehicle's occupants had been able to escape unharmed and began extinguishing the blaze.  The fire was fully put out by noon, firefighters said. The cause of the blaze was not released.

One Found Dead After Vehicle Fire On Palisades Interstate Parkway One person was found dead inside a burning vehicle on the Palisades Interstate Parkway during the early morning hours. The car fire was discovered around 2 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the southbound lane at the Exit 16 ramp in Stony Point by New York State Police, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Car Bursts Into Flames At Area Shopping Center, Damages One Business A car fire next at a Rockland County shopping center destroyed the vehicle and caused damage to a business. The fire took place around 7:30 a.m., Thursday, April 2, at 53 Bardonia Road in Bardonia, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.  As units responded to the fire they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the vehicle.
