Long Island’s Jon Lizak, of Cold Spring Harbor in Suffolk County, was arrested by federal investigators on Thursday, Sept. 15. Andrew Desiderio, a senior from Mineola in Nassau County, was 21 years old, majoring in mechanical engineering, with a minor in economics, and was due to graduate next month. Covid-19: College Student From Hudson Valley Creates Ventilator Prototype A Binghamton University student from the Hudson Valley is doing his best to help those ailing during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. New Rochelle native Jacob Goodman, a junior studying mechanical engineering, was challenged by a professor to build a working ventilator. According to reports, Goodman took a trip to Wal-Mart on Friday, March 27 to get the supplies he required and went to work in his dorm room. He explains how he went about it in this video.
