DWI Crash: Driver Flees After Highland Woman Critically Injured In Saugerties, Police Say A Hudson Valley man who allegedly fled from a two-vehicle crash involving alcohol that critically injured a woman was found hiding in his home. The crash took place in Ulster County around 6:30 a.m., Friday, March 31 on Route 9W in Barclay Heights. Responding Saugerties officers found a 2018 GMC Sierra Pickup and a 2008 Ford Taurus SUV, both vehicles heavily damaged.  No occupants were located within the GMC Sierra. Man Who Beat Victim With Crowbar Behind Bars In Ulster County, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly brutally attacking and robbing another person with a crowbar. Tyler Brinkhuis, age 24, was arrested in Ulster County on Wednesday, July 14 by the Saugerties Police Department for the assault which took place on Tuesday, July 13. According to Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra, Brinkhuis is alleged to have struck the victim multiple times with a crowbar and then robbed them of their personal property.
