Eight New York members of organized crime families, including six from Long Island, are among nine men who have been charged by federal authorities with racketeering and related offenses.

Woman Standing In Front Of Suffolk Farm Stand Struck, Killed By Box Truck
A woman was killed after being struck by a box truck while standing in front of a Long Island farm stand.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 in Eastport.
Queens resident Judith DiLorenzo, 78, of Whitestone, was standing in front of a farm stand on County Road 111, approximately one-quarter mile north of Sunrise Highway, when the 2011 Freightliner box truck struck her, Suffolk County Police said.
