Man Found Shot, Killed On Suffolk County Roadway, Police Say An investigation is underway after a man was found shot along a Long Island roadway and later died, New York State Police announced. Shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, State Police troopers in Suffolk County responded to a stretch of Old Point Road on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, where there was a report of an unresponsive man lying in the roadway. Troopers located the man, Ali Wisdom, age 43, of Sag Harbor - who investigators noted is not a member of the Shinnecock Nation - and found he had been shot. Police Renew Call For Public's Help In Investigation Of Northern State Parkway Homicide State Police are still investigating a homicide that took place 28 years ago on Long Island. According to police, the body of a Latino male was found by a passerby on the right shoulder of the Northern State Parkway eastbound in the town of Hempstead at approximately 11:33 p.m. on March 1, 1992.  The body, which had been shot multiple times, was about 25 feet off the roadway, about 1/10 of a mile west of New Hyde Park Road.  Police identified 28-year-old Edgar Humberto Quiroz of Queens as the victim. One Driver Dead, Second Hospitalized In Route 27 Crash Between Box Truck, Tractor-Trailer A tractor-trailer and box truck collided on Sunrise Highway, leaving one driver dead and the second hospitalized on Long Island. New York State Police troopers responded at approximately 5:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, where there was a reported crash on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) near the exit 62 eastbound exit in Southampton. Human Remains Found In Trees Off Meadowbrook Parkway Exit On Long Island Human remains were found in the trees lining a Meadowbrook Parkway exit ramp on Long Island, New York State Police said. Police said that at approximately 9:38 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, road workers discovered a dead body in the tree line of the Meadowbrook State Parkway southbound ramp to M7 West (Babylon Turnpike West) in Roosevelt. According to police, the body has been covered and is being processed. The M7 ramp was closed as police investigated in the area.
