Man Struck By School Bus On Long Island, Hospitalized In Critical Condition A 70-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a school bus on Long Island. The crash happened in Merrick at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28. The school bus with no children on board was traveling south on Merrick Avenue when it was involved in a crash at Benson Lane with a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, the Nassau County Police Department reported. Woman Rescued After Fire Breaks Out When Car Crashes Into Shed A driver who suffered from a medical condition before crashing into a shed on Long Island had to be rescued by first responders when a small fire started under the car, police said. A 2008 Honda Pilot being driven by a 29-year-old woman crashed into a shed on Nostrand Avenue in Uniondale at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, Nassau County Police said.
