44-Year-Old From Amityville Killed In Sunken Meadow Parkway Crash In Smithtown
Police have identified a man who they say was killed in a crash on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway. The crash happened on the night of Tuesday, Aug. 1 at approximately 11:30 p.m., according to the New York State Police. Jaron Lowndes, a 44-year-old Amityville resident, was riding his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle on the parkway, traveling southbound. He came upon two cars stuck in the right lane – one was a broken-down Toyota Rav4, and the other was a Ford EcoSport stopped behind it. The identities have been released of a man killed and another seriously injured in a wrong-way crash that happened on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway. A pickup truck was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it struck a 2007 Mazda CX7 SUV traveling northbound in the northbound lanes at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 in Smithtown, north of Exit SM3, state police said. Two Killed, Two Injured When Land Rover Crashes Into Overpass In Suffolk
Two people were killed and two others hospitalized in a single-vehicle Long Island crash involving a Land Rover, authorities announced. The crash happened on Saturday, July 11 at about 4:20 a.m., on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway just south of the Northern State Parkway in Smithtown, state police said.
