Injuries Found On Deceased Whale That Washed Up In Hamptons Injuries were found during an examination to determine the cause of death of the deceased humpback whale that washed up at Cupsogue County Parks in Westhampton Beach Sunday, May 5.  Officials performed their necropsy examination of the animal on Tuesday, May. 7. The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society received a call from Suffolk County Parks about the whale on Sunday then formulated a response plan, said AMCS Media Coordinator Rachel Bosworth.
