Rachel Quinn, an educator at the Bretton Woods Elementary School in Hauppauge, where she taught fifth-graders, died on Monday, June 14 at Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue. Quinn’s first child, Ellie Anne Quinn, who was expected in weeks, also died, officials said. Karen Dudek Of Commack, Ex-Director Of Nursing At Long Island Hospital, Dies A Commack resident whose career includes director of nursing at a Long Island hospital has died. Karen S. Dudek died Tuesday, Aug. 6, at her home in Commack, at age 63. After 36 years as a nurse and later as director of nursing at the Nassau County Medical Center, she retired and worked for several hospital associations in New York City as director of nursing. Dudek was predeceased by her parents, Regina B. Smith and Robert A. Smith, and her sister, Regina S. Man Accused Of Stealing $300 In Equipment From St. Joseph’s College Campus In Patchogue Police are looking for a man they say burglarized St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue this month. The man stole yard equipment from the St. Joseph’s College campus, located at 155 W. Roe Blvd., at approximately 4:20 a.m. on April 22, according to Suffolk County Police. The equipment was valued at approximately $300, police said. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest, according to the police report.
