Sears To Close One Of Few Remaining NY Locations The last full-service Sears store in the Hudson Valley has announced it will be closing next month after 43 years of serving the community.  The Orange County store, located in the Newburgh Mall, announced on Facebook on Aug. 31 that it would be closing its store on Sunday, Oct. 16. "It's with a heavy heart to be announcing the Sears Store at the Newburgh Mall is closing its doors on October 16th. Long Island Mall Sells For Nearly $30M, Report Says The Sunrise Mall on Sunrise Highway on Long Island sold for nearly $30 million, a fraction of what it went for when it was previously sold in 2005. Sunrise Mall Holdings LLC, a joint venture led by Manhattan real estate investment trust Urban Edge Properties, paid $29.7 million to purchase the Massapequa mall from Westfield, the company announced this week. The 1.2 million-square-foot mall previously sold for more than $140 million in 2005. The new deal also calls for upwards of $6 million in contingency consideration funds.
