A woman has been accused of driving drunk with a child in the SUV after a chain-reaction crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 in Lawrence. Rachael Hess, age 44, of Far Rockaway Queens, was operating a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse southbound on Rockaway Turnpike near Broadway when she struck a Honda HR-V operated by a 37-year-old man, Nassau County Police said. 13-Year-Old Injured In Hit-Run Long Island Crash
A teenage pedestrian was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Long Island, police said. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, a 13-year-old boy was struck by a Volkswagen Passat while crossing in front of a building on Burnside Avenue in North Lawrence. Police said that the driver proceeded to leave the scene of the accident, traveling eastbound on Burnside Avenue toward the Rockaway Turnpike. Man Accused Of Threatening Two Men, Child At Long Island Costco
A 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly threatening three people - including a rabbi and an 11-year-old child - with physical violence at a Long Island Costco, police said. Nassau County Police investigators arrested Justin Pichizaca, of Queens, on Sunday, Dec. 8, after he allegedly threatened two grown men in their 30s and the child with physical violence and yelled religious slurs based on their religion, while at Costco located on Rockaway Turnpike.
