Long Island Man Charged With Stabbing 50-Year-Old During Fight, Police Say A Long Island man has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing another person during an altercation. The incident took place in New Cassel around 5:50 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the area of 846 Prospect Ave. According to detectives, two men were arguing when the incident escalated one was stabbed by the other in the chest. The suspect, identified as Emilio Cruz-Yanes, age 59, of Newe Cassel, then fled the scene.  The victim, a 50-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. Suspect At Large After Attempted Robbery At Long Island Restaurant A suspect is on the loose after an attempted robbery at a Long Island restaurant. An unknown man entered Mr. Chen Chinese Food in New Cassel, located at 1004 Prospect Ave., at about 1:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2. Once inside, the suspect held a bag over his hand simulating a firearm while demanding money from the 30-year-old female employee, according to Nassau County Police.
