Police Seek Info In Murder Of 47-Year-Old Mastic Man Police have asked the public for information on the murder of a 47-year-old man who was found fatally shot in his Long Island home nearly one year ago. Josue Bedell was found dead in his Mastic home on Poospatuck Lane on July 4, 2021, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.  Authorities asked the public for help identifying the suspect or suspects in the case. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.  Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Two Suffolk County Women Accused Of Selling Illegal Fireworks Two women have been accused of selling illegal fireworks at a Long Island store. Responding to community complaints, Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers responded to Smokes R Us, located in Mastic at 194 Poospatuck Lane just before 2 p.m. Friday, June 3 where they saw signs on the door that fireworks were for sale. After further investigation, police found 250 cases of fireworks on the shelves and in storage, police added.  The fireworks are valued at more than $100,000, according to police.
