Suspicious Incident: Long Island Man Finds Intruder With Dog, Gun On Back Porch Police are investigating after a Long Island man reported finding an intruder with a dog and a gun on his back porch in the early morning hours. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 20, in the Bay View Oaks area in the hamlet of Noyack.  Officers from the Southampton Town Police responded to a residence in Noyack, to investigate an incident possibly involving the possession of a firearm, said Lt.
