'Deepfake' Targeted Law Proposed By NY DA A New York district attorney has unveiled a plan to propose new legislation that would protect citizens in the event that their personal images are digitally manipulated for sexual content. Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly hopes that her proposal, called the “Digital Manipulation Protection Act,” would close any loopholes left open by the current New York State law. Montauk Businessman Charged With Ripping Off Customers, DA Says A Long Island businessman has been charged with grand larceny for the alleged theft of more than $325,000 from some of his customers and a payroll company. Mark Ripolone, age 34, of Montauk, was arrested on Monday, June 6, and charged with five counts of grand larceny, said Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.
