A serious crash involving an overturned vehicle caused gridlock on the Long Island Expressway during the height of the morning commute on Monday, May 23. The right lane was closed on the westbound side at Exit 41 in Nassau County for several hours.

A new storm system expected to bring accumulating snowfall and cause slick travel conditions will be followed by the potential for a major Nor'easter during an active weather pattern in the region. Click here for an updated story: ID Released For Teen Killed In Robert Moses Causeway Bridge Crash One person was killed in a three-car crash during the morning commute on the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge. The crash happened around 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 on the southbound side in Suffolk County, police said. The crash caused the closure of the southbound lanes during the accident investigation. Projected Snowfall Totals Adjusted With Winter Weather Advisories Issued For Much Of Area
New Update: Here Are Latest Snowfall Projections, Time Frame For Storm Projected snowfall totals have been adjusted for the slow-moving storm system sweeping through the area, with higher amounts now projected farther south. The changeover from rain to snow will happen overnight Tuesday, Dec. 10 into Wednesday, Dec. 11.
