Businesses, Apartments Become Engulfed In Flames In Four-Alarm Long Island Fire Some 200 firefighters battled a four-alarm fire that engulfed several businesses and apartments on Long Island. The blaze broke out in Mineola around 7:55 p.m., Sunday, March 15, in a garage on Main Street, said the Nassau County Police Department. Police officers and Mineola Fire Department responded to a 911 call for a parking garage fire in the rear of 101 Main St., Nassau County Police said.
