Jones Beach Hotel Manager, Employee Overpower Armed Robbery Suspect, Police Say An attempted armed robber at a Long Island hotel was hospitalized after a struggle ensued with employees following a botched robbery, police said. Officers from the Nassau County Police Department responded to the Jones Beach Hotel in Wantagh at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, where there was a reported robbery in progress. Police said that East Hartford resident Justin Gagnon, 35, entered the hotel and approached the front desk, demanding that a 23-year-old male victim give him money from the register while he wielded a handgun.
