The rescue took place around 11:13 a.m., Sunday, June 6, when South Country Ambulance was requested as mutual aid to the Mastic Beach Fire Department for a water rescue in New Old Inlet in Bellport Bay.  The rider had been thrown from the front of the jet ski after hitting the sandbar, suffering a broken ankle, said the South County Ambulance. Jeremy Ashraf, 30, of Rocky Point, was operating a 2020 Kawasaki jet ski in the Great South Bay when the vehicle struck a sandbar near Ridge Island and became disabled at approximately 7:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Man, Woman Clinging To Jet Ski Rescued Off Long Island Coast A man and woman clinging to a jet ski submerged on Long Island were rescued. The incident happened on Thursday, Aug. 13 at around 1:45 p.m. in Wantagh. According to Nassau County Police, while on routine patrol, Marine 1 spotted the two clinging to a jet ski that was submerged in Bellmore Channel.  Officers were able to pull the passengers, a 25-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old man, to safety.  Both individuals were transported to Wantagh Marina. Neither passenger suffered an injury.

21-Year-Old Injured In Long Island Jet-Ski Accident A 21-year-old was injured in a jet-ski accident on Long Island. Nassau County Police Marine Bureau received a call for a medical emergency in the Merrick Bay on Saturday, July 11 at around 5 p.m. in Merrick. Upon arrival, NCPD Marine Bureau 5 discovered the man suffering from a leg injury. The man was transported to a local hospital with the assistance of the Bay Constable. He was listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
