Gatsby On The Ocean restaurant and catering facility opened Friday, June 7 in the iconic West Bathhouse at Parking Field 3 at Jones Beach. It has a menu that features artisanal ingredients with dishes prepared by Executive Chef Andrew Helliwell in a new American culinary style. On Thursdays, it offers a special "New York State of Mind" menu highlighted by local ingredients. Gatsby has wine and beer including ones from New York State. There is live music on Thursdays. Local Owner Sheds Light On Future Of Other Friendly's Restaurants On Long Island The owner of a Middle Island Friendly's closing this weekend said he is looking to secure a new space within five miles and relocate the restaurant.  Meanwhile, there are no plans to close any of the other 18 Friendly's he owns on Long Island, President of J&B Restaurant Partners Joe Vitrano told Daily Voice. Vitrano is looking to find a property to rent with seating and a minimum of 28,000 square feet to re-establish the location at 848 Middle County Road in the neighborhood.
