Covid-19: Long Island Bus Company Closes, With 900 Losing Jobs One of Long Island’s largest bus companies is closing its doors and laying off nearly 1,000 employees amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Baumann Bus Company announced this week it will be permanently closing its doors after five decades, costing 900 jobs of previously laid-off drivers who will now not be hired back.
