ID Released For Man Killed In Hit-Run Suffolk County Crash The identity has been released for a man killed in a hit-and-run Long Island crash. The incident happened around 7 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 in Stony Brook. The man, now identified as Ronald Destefano, age 54, of Lake Grove, was crossing Route 347 from south to north at Hallock Road when he was struck by a westbound vehicle that fled the scene, Suffolk County Police said.  A passing motorist called 911 at approximately 7:05 a.m. to report a body in the roadway.  Destefano was pronounced dead at the scene. Suffolk Man Killed After SUV Crashes Into Trees A Long Island man was killed after an SUV crashed into trees off the roadway. The incident happened Friday, Jan. 17 just after 11:30 a.m. in Stony Brook. Ian Brown, of Medford, was driving a 2000 Lincoln Navigator eastbound in a parking lot when it crossed Hallock Road south of Millbrook Road and crashed into multiple trees, Suffolk County Police said. Brown, 52, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police.
