Explosion Sets Off Large Fire At Numerous Long Island Businesses Four firefighters were injured battling a large fire that destroyed a florist shop on Long Island and damaged another business. The fire started around 12:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at Duryea's Florist at 60 Guy Lombardo Ave., in Freeport. Officials said the fire started with an explosion on the first floor in a floral shop and moved to a neighboring Deli Ta Queria. Other nearby business also received damage and four firefighters suffered minor injuries, Freeport fire officials told News 12.
