Two Suffolk County Locations To Receive $10M For Downtown Revitalization Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that two Long Island locations are set to receive $10 million each to revitalize their downtown areas. The village of Amityville and the town of Riverhead will each receive the funding in the fifth round of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Teen Bicyclist Critically Injured After Getting Hit By Car A 16-year-old teen was critically injured after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Hicksville. The incident took place around 9:37 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, in the vicinity of Newbridge Road and Old Country Road, in Hicksville, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives,  a 63-year-old man was driving a 2019 Nissan northbound on Newbridge Road and struck the teen as he was crossing Old County Road west to east on his bicycle, police said.
