Resident Dies After Blaze Breaks Out At Long Island Home One person died after a fire broke out at a Long Island home. Nassau County Police say detectives were conducting an investigation in Baldwin on Talmadge Drive when they saw smoke emanating from a residence at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11. Details Emerge After Fire Rips Through Row Of Stores On Long Island New details have been released after an early morning four-alarm fire damaged several businesses at a Long Island shopping plaza. The fire started around 2:40 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22 in Cedarhurst when Nassau County Police called the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department reporting smoke coming from the building.
