Medford Fake Apartment Listing Scam: Police Search For Man Responsible Police are asking for the community’s help locating and identifying a man who they say stole several thousand dollars from Long Island families by running a fake apartment listing scheme. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, a man put up flyers in a Medford laundromat advertising an apartment for rent located on Sipp Avenue. The man did not own the apartment, police claim, but two families paid the scammer several thousands of dollars on Tuesday, March 14.
