10 Arrested In Massive Long Island Dogfighting Bust, DA Says Ten people were rescued and 89 dogs rescued following an investigation into an alleged interstate dogfighting ring on Long Island, the District Attorney announced. Dog Fighter From Long Island Sentenced After Pit Bulls Found With Bite, Puncture Wounds A 64-year-old dog fighter from Long Island will spend time behind bars and will be banned from owning animals for a decade after investigators found seven pit bulls with bite and puncture wounds all over their body.
