Video Shows Alligator Being Captured Near School In NY
Video footage has been released showing an alligator being captured near a school in the Hudson Valley. Though the video is just now being made available, the incident occurred Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 in Dutchess County outside Van Wyck Junior High School in Wappingers Falls. East Fishkill Police reported the four- to-five-foot alligator roaming around early that afternoon. Dog Rescued After Being Stranded In Marsh On Long Island
Fast-acting police officers came to the rescue of a dog that found itself in a precarious position stranded in a marsh on Long Island. Nassau County Police officers responded to Long Beach Road at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, where there was an adult male boxer that was stranded in the marsh and unable to make it back to the shore. Marine Bureau and Emergency Service Unit officers responded and were able to travers their boat through the marsh where they were able to rescue the dog and transported it back to a nearby dock. Long Island Woman Seriously Injured After Being Attacked By Dogs, Man Trying To Help Also Hurt
Two people were hospitalized after being attacked by dogs on Long Island. A 52-year-old woman was attacked by two pit bulls at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 while walking on Hungry Harbor Road in Valley Stream, police said. Upon arrival, officers found the woman bleeding heavily, with lacerations caused by the dogs to her face, arms, and legs, police said. A 52-year-old man who attempted to intervene also suffered bites to his right hand and foot as he attempted to stop the dogs’ attack. 431-Pound Bear Euthanized After Confronting Resident, Ransacking Connecticut Home
A 431-pound bear was euthanized after entering a home in Connecticut, confronting the homeowner and then ransacking the kitchen and dining room. The incident took place early Saturday morning, April 20 when a Simsbury homeowner walked into his kitchen and was met by the huge bear who was looking for food, said Lee Sawyer, spokesman for Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
