Suffolk County Police announced the arrest of the suspect on Friday, Aug. 16 just over a week after the incident in which a 15-year-old was killed around 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7 in Central Islip.
Four teens were in the woods outside 142 East Suffolk Ave. when they were approached by two teens, police said. The teens fled, but the 15-year-old was shot.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect is a juvenile, police said, and the case is sealed.
