Suspect From Middle Island Nabbed Minutes After Centereach Bank Robbery

A suspect was apprehended minutes after a bank robbery on Long Island.

According to Suffolk County Police, Ralph William Dominguez, age 65, entered M&T Bank in Centereach, located at 1919 Middle Country Road, at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, and handed a note demanding cash to a bank teller. 

The employee complied and Dominguez fled on foot.

Less than a half hour later, a man matching his description was located by Suffolk County PD Sixth Precinct patrol officers in the parking lot of 1740 Middle Country Road in Centereach (see the image above). 

He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony.

Dominguez, of Middle Island, was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
