An investigation is underway after a teenager was shot in broad daylight on Long Island.
The incident happened on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 4:50 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
Officers from the Rockville Centre Police Department responded to a call on Meehan Lane for a male victim who was shot.
Upon arrival, officers located the 19-year-old who had been shot in his left leg, the Nassau County Police said.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrival.
The investigation is ongoing.
