First Precinct officers say they received a report of a kitten that was trapped in a storm drain in Lindenhurst on Sunday, Sept. 8 around 11:15 a.m.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered the kitten was located in a pipe between two drains that were located on opposing corners, prompting a request for assistance from Emergency Service Section officers, police say.

Emergency Service Section officers say they responded to the scene, climbed into the drain and used a leaf blower provided by a nearby resident to successfully coax the kitten to a safe location where it was removed from the drain.

The kitten was transported to a veterinarian’s office for evaluation, police say.
