According to Nassau County detectives, the incident took place around 1:15 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, in Baldwin when officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance at the Ramada Inn hotel located at 1000 Sunrise Highway.
An investigation found that Jacqueline Wilson, age 31, of Queens, had a dispute with an employee before striking the worker in the face, police said.
Wilson returned to her room and threatened violence against multiple employees over the phone, they added.
Jacqueline Wilson was arrested without incident. During the arrest, officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the room, police said.
During the investigation, it was determined Andre Wilson, age 39, also of Queens, arrived at the scene in a 2013 Nissan Sentra with three children ages 2, 5, and 7.
According to police he reportedly left the children unattended in the vehicle for a period of time and when he returned became uncooperative and combative with police.
A struggle ensued and an officer injured his hand before he subdued Wilson, police said.
Andre Wilson was arrested and found to be in possession of the following:
- 50 pills of a substance believed to be Roxicodone
- 29 pills believed to be ecstasy
- A substance believed to be heroin (7.1 grams)
- A substance believed to be crack cocaine (6.9 grams)
- A substance believed to be cocaine (2.3 grams)
- A substance believed to be methamphetamine (16 grams)
Officers also found a loaded handgun located on the floor of the front driver’s side of his vehicle, police added.
The children were released to a relative.
Jacqueline Wilson was charged with:
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Aggravated harassment
- Four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Andre Wilson was charged with:
- Criminal possession of a weapon
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Three counts of endangering the welfare of a child,
- Six counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree
- Five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree
- Obstructing governmental administration
Both were held for arraignment on Monday, Jan. 24.
