It happened on Monday, Feb. 3 at 9:08 p.m. in Inwood, Nassau County Police said.
While attempting to cross Mott Avenue, from the east side to the west side, the man was struck by a 1995 Honda traveling northbound on Nassau Expressway, according to police.
The man suffered multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:22 pm by a hospital physician.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old man, remained at the scene.
The vehicle was brake and safety checked.
The investigation is ongoing.
