Junior Romero-Delcid, age 27, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged for the September 2023 incident, Suffolk County Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Romero-Delcid is one of two drivers who, at around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2023, was alleged to have hit bicyclist Felix Cesi Oliva Cruz in Central Islip, leaving him for dead.

Bay Shore resident Cruz, who was 65 years old, just feet away from the Long Island Rail Road station, was riding his bike north across East Suffolk Avenue. He was hit by two cars traveling east — a small, dark-colored SUV and a white sedan, which Suffolk County Police said was Romero-Delcid’s white Honda Civic.

The driver of the SUV has yet to be identified.

Romero-Delcid is charged with leaving the scene of an incident involving a fatality.

He is due to appear at Riverhead’s Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
