Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Dutchess

With a wintry mix now expected Christmas Eve into Christmas morning, parts of the Hudson Valley are expected to get a preview starting Friday afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory that includes Putnam, Dutchess and Orange counties, will be in effect from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning.

During that time, freezing rain likely, resulting in difficult travel conditions, including for the Friday evening commute.

Total ice accumulation of a few hundredths up to one-tenth of an inch is expected in Putnam and Orange. Parts of Dutchess could also see 1 to 2 inches of snowfall accumulation.

Precipitation will become all rain later Saturday morning into the afternoon as the temperature rises into the 40s.
