New TBZ Jumper Pulled To Safety By Officers Who 'Rappelled' Over Side, Police Say

A man who attempted to jump from the new Tappan Zee Bridge was rescued by troopers and a special police unit who rappelled over the side of the bridge and pulled him up with ropes. The incident began on the bridge in Southern Westchester in the area of Tarrytown around 9:20 a.m., Friday, May 27. Woman Who Jumped In Hudson River Rescued By Police, Firefighters
A woman who jumped into the Hudson River in Westchester was rescued by police officers and firefighters. The incident took place around 10:18 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, when the Tarrytown Police Department received an emergency call from a resident reporting that an unidentified woman had just jumped into the Hudson River in the area of the River Walk. This story has been updated. A woman who jumped from the upper deck of the mid-span of the Tappan Zee Bridge has been transported to a hospital. The woman jumped from the bridge around 9 a.m, Monday, Dec. 7, near Tarrytown, said the New York State Police. Two Rescued After Kayak Overturns In Hudson River
The Westchester County Police Marine Unit rescued two people in the Hudson River after their kayak overturned off Irvington. A husband and wife, in their 50s, from Irvington, were clinging to the kayak when the Westchester County Police Marine Unit patrol boat arrived on scene about 3:35 p.m.Wednesday, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the department. Woman Visiting Area To Attend Wedding Killed In Single-Car Crash
A passenger in a vehicle involved in a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center. The other three occupants of the vehicle were also transported to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
